Your phone is tracking you

    I know it's a YouTube, but I cant find it elsewhere. This is a news clip of a reporter who bought a brand new phone, did not add service to it, and travelled around with it in their pocket for a day. They then had a look at what data it stored. If you haven't seen this, please watch.

    I held my nose and allowed Google (and Youtube) to run on my system for four minutes.
    It appears that the mere act of buying those phones is implied consent for the tracking and recording of data by Google.

    I hope nobody wonders why I rail against Google... or why I don't own a cellphone...

    It's not just Google that's tracking you--Facebook is too. Social media under their umbrella, like WhatsApp and Instagram all having tracking technology they use to serve targeted ads to you. Data collection is a huge problem. Let's hope it ends with ads, though.
