When I consider what that would do to the price of fuels (all of them), I'm ready to run screaming in the streets.
What will public transit do? What price on a bus pass?
Will we be able to afford bicycle tires?
Employment numbers will truly crash as people are no longer able to travel to work. Look at Japan as an example, train travel by employees who walk everywhere.

It's a good time to be retired, huh?

From my sources, many believe that the average price per gallon of fuel will be $8 by next summer.

"Retired" means I lack the ability to go across town on a bicycle. I used to do 10 miles a day around town...

That's understandable. This is where the e-bike comes in?

I like the e-bike, technically, but the price tag puts it outside my range. I could handle a regular pedal bike, in the the $100-200 price range, but $2000 just won't fly with our budget.

I understand completely.

We have some hard times coming, there is no doubt in my mind anymore.
