How to cook inside, with no smoke, without gas or electricity With the exception of the propane stove, these are suitable for use indoors. Beware of propane/butane stoves because they will use up your oxygen and generate CO2. Obviously, a wood stove needs both air intake and chimney for exhaust. Smoke should be taken into consideration, depending on what is happening in your area. For short term heating, I do keep a few hand warmer packs and MRE heaters.
