Article- California may have to turn off electrical power to prevent wildfires

    Seems they also need to go back to the practice of clear space under/around their power line access spaces.

    Losing power in the middle of a wind storm will not be popular with their customers, but it is better than more wild fires like Paradise, CA.

    My uncles house and shop burned down because of trees in the power lines in 1989. He lost everything, including his log truck, a lifetime of tools and their house was a registered historic monument. All gone in one storm.

    I know I'm not the only one that has a personal story about this, so that is why so many people are upset. PG&E needs to maintain their equipment or sell it to someone who will.
