    Warning: it is not pretty...

I note the "protection' racket mentioned by the author. How much do you trust your neighbors? How much do they trust you?

Note the currency inflation too. You may have some cash in your preps, but expect that to be severely devalued. Plan on barter instead, and DON'T let it be known that you have goods for barter.

The devalue of money,is why i won't stock up on anymore money then i can afford.and won't stock up on silver and gold.on account i figure the earthly/personal item's will be worth alot more

Cash, as in fiat bills, are not something I think will have much value after an "event". Gold and silver will keep their value, but trade using them as currency will not work until society is trying to rebuild, NOT during the crisis nor for some time after it is over. I expect to hold Gold and Silver coin until people are willing to use it for currency.

Barter should be useful much sooner after a crisis event. Of course I expect to have to defend whatever I have in stock against those who either have nothing to trade or who intend to take whatever they can find... Look at the "protection" gangs operating in Venezuela...

I plan on waiting for FEMA to help. Maybe go to one of those nice camps they set up.

How about you get a reservation for the FEMA tent with the hot tub? It's right next to the water concession stand and the Red Cross food dispensary. That will draw the crowds away and I hear the "Safe Zone" area has been moved away from the sleeping tents because of the noise abatement lawsuit. FEMA aims to please. They want to keep their Four Star rating in the Forbes Travel Guide.
